Kevin Spacey stars in this fresh Eugene O’Neill play, Spacey also starred in The Iceman Cometh, another O’Neill play on Broadway. Josie (played by British stage actress Eve Best) and Jim Tyrone (Kevin Spacey) are secret lovers in O’Neill’s only romantic drama. Moon for the Misbegotten is set in a farmhouse in Conneticut on a moonlit night in which Jim and Josie begin to express their love and longing for one another. Josie is powerful woman but is dominated by the constant presence of her crafty father, and Jim is her father’s drinking buddy and landlord. Complications abound in this drama, as the events of this night change both Josie and Jim’s lives.

Moon for the Misbegotten tickets are a rare purchase not that the show is sold out and it is only running for 84 performances, from March 29th to June 10th at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Howard Davies directs Moon for the Misbegotten which was brought over after much success from the London stage. Most of the actors are the original cast including Josie and Spacey was added on for the American release. So far reviews have quoted this as one of Spacey’s most compelling performances on Broadway. Kevin Spacey is a two-time Academy Award winner for The Usual Suspects and American Beauty; he has also won a Tony Award for Lost in Yonkers for his character Louie.
