The familiar tale of the orphan child
who is raised by gorillas in the wilds of the jungle comes
to life on stage in the Broadway debut of Disney’s
Tarzan. When Tarzan meets his first human, the bright
young explorer Jane Porter, their worlds collide and they
are forever changed. Featuring the music of Grammy Award-winning
composer Phil Collins, Tarzan is a classic love story
that will warm your heart.
Tarzan features the hit song from Disney’s movie
version, “You’ll Be In My Heart,”
which won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best
Song, and was nominated for a Grammy. With songs like
this and other gems, Tarzan tickets are like musical
and concert tickets! Collins, a former band member of
Genesis, is best known for his hit solo songs, “Take
Me Home,” “Sussudio,” “In the
Air Tonight,” and “One More Night.”
He has won seven Grammy awards and composed the score
for Disney’s animated film, Brother Bear.
The power creative team behind Tarzan also includes
Henry David Hwang (Book), who won the Tony and Drama
Desk Awards for his Broadway debut, M. Butterfly. He
received additional Tony nominations for his play Golden
Child and for the new book for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s
Flower Drum Song. Hwang is the winner of two Obie Awards,
has authored dozens of plays, as well as the book for
Aida. He wrote the screenplay for M. Butterfly, Golden
Gate and Possession.
Director Bob Crowley wears three hats in this production
of Tarzan, also designing the set and costumes. Crowley’s
extensive design credits include several plays for the
National Theater, as well as The Iceman Cometh, for
which he received a Tony nomination.
