Duff’s career began at age six when she was hired as
a dancer for a traveling production of The Nutcraker. She
then began to appear in commercials and did acting roles in
small parts and the feature film, Casper Meets Wendy. She
landed a series on Disney called Lizzie McGuire which made
her an international star and helped create the platform for
her music career. She made her singing debut on the Lizzie
McGuire soundtrack with the song “I Can’t Wait,”
and the song was a hit on Disney Radio. She then followed
the success of her first hit with a Christmas album that same
year.
As her popularity increased, Hillary Duff
starred in the feature film, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and
the soundtrack featured two of her songs, “What Dreams
Are Made Of,” and “Why Not,” both of which
gained extensive airplay and secured her a teen idol icon
position in 2003. With a huge teen and pre-teen fan base,
Hillary Duff was ready to launch her singing career and
released her first album, Metamorphosis, in August of 2003.
Her first album helped with her international fan base as
well, reaching the top 40 charts in more than 6 countries,
including Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
Despite her world fame, Hillary Duff is
very active in several non-profit organizations including
the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund and the Youth Advisory
Committee of Kids with a Cause, an organization dedicated
to helping needing children throughout the US.
Since
the release of her first album, Duff has released an album
each year; the self-titled Hilary Duff in 2004 and Most
Wanted in 2005. Both of these albums have produced hits
and charted in the world’s top 100 albums. With this
success and popularity, Hilary Duff is able to headline
her own tours and Hilary Duff concert tickets sell out across
the world and especially in the US. At the tender age of
17, Hillary Duff is positioned to continue to produce albums
for her fan base and has plans to broaden her audience as
she herself comes of age.
