Known primarily for reaching a younger
demographic, Rascal Flatts (every band member is under
the age of 34) has made quite an impression in both the
country and pop charts. They three band members of Rascal
Flatts met up in Nashville and spent more then 5 years
playing gigs in the local bar scene. Finally in 2000,
a small Nashville studio, backed by Disney, signed the
trio and the produced three songs that all went into the
top 10, “Praying for Daylight,” “This
Everyday Love,” and “While You Loved Me.”
These three singles led to the selling of more than 500,000
copies of their self-titled debut album, Rascal Flatts.
It wasn’t long after that when in 2002, Toby
Keith asked Rascal Flatts to join his tour and since
then the band has pulled numerous awards and are now
at the 6 million mark in record sales. They have played
for President Bush and the first lady, currently Rascal
Flatts is the reigning CMA group of the year and they
have headlined 3 sold out tours. Rascal Flatts concert
tickets have entertained more than 300,000 fans. The
Nashville based band have become national spokesmen
for the American Red Cross and hosted a farewell tribute
to Alabama, the group they are most compared to.
At times it becomes difficult to remember that they
have accomplished all this with just 3 albums worth
of material. Currently Rascal Flatts continues to have
sold-out tours, bringing their harmonic melodies to
fans across the nation. Their songs explore love and
loss, regret and promises, all topics that appeal to
their fan base and keep them coming back for more.
