Rod Stewart
is one of rocks longest standing folk singers, songwriter
and live performer. With a career that spans five decades
and numerous collaborations, as well as him being a lead
singer for several groups, he still continues to draw crowds
every time he goes on tour. Rod Stewart is of Scottish decent
and most well known for his raspy voice and outstanding
personal style, all of which are exemplified by his signature
song, “Maggie Mae.” He began singing in the
early 1960’s with a myriad of bands and did not really
meet with success until he recorded a solo album with Mercury
Records and “Maggie Mae” began an international
hit, since then he has continued making platinum selling
albums with top 10 hits.
Rod Stewart’s
songwriting abilities are perhaps overlooked. He has been
the solitary writer on several of his biggest hits, “Tonight’s
the Night,” “Hot Legs,” and “You’re
in my Heart,” just to name a few. Stewart has sold
over 100 million records worldwide and has consistently
been a presence in the charts for the last 40 years.
In his personal
life, Rod Stewart is a huge philanthropist in raising funds
for The City of Hope Foundation charity which helps to find
cures for all kinds of cancer, especially those affecting
children. He has fathered six children with four different
women and recently his newest wife gave birth to his seventh
child. He is an extremely energetic performer and this spark
definitely has overflowed into every area of his life.
His concerts
are now a bit sparser since he was diagnosed with thyroid
cancer in 2000 and had to learn how to sing again but he
continues to belt out his hits to sold-out concert halls
across the world. His signature songs that helped define
a generation bring out many loyal fans to purchase Rod Stewart
concert tickets. He also helped to define a personal style
referred to as Mod in the early 70’s, a true trendsetter
at heart, Rod Stewart will definitely be supported by his
many followers when ever he decides to tour.
